I had endured a few brutal beatings before in my life, but this time....it was bad. I had to admit to myself that Mutombo was going to be one of my biggest challenges I would have to face. During his assault on me just a couple hours ago at the Thunder show, I was forced to realize just how powerful the man was. He was going to be very difficult to beat. But in spite of all the physical pain I was now in as I laid here in this hospital bed, I was not afraid of him.
But that wasn't the only thing that happened tonight that was on my mind heavily right now. There was something else. Lycra had informed me that her former close friend Alexis Makarios had confronted her face to face backstage tonight.
Needless to say, Lycra was shocked to see Makarios. You see, Makarios was a person of Lycra's past. Someone that Lycra did not ever want to see again, for reasons to this day I did not know of. I had asked Lycra why she just up and abandoned their friendship, but she refused to answer. So for the past two years, I had left the topic alone.
But now...I cannot and WILL NOT leave this alone anymore. Because I had just found out about a month ago just how much not having Makarios around had greatly affected my son Maverick. My son absolutely loved and adored his "Auntie Lexi".
He still does.
So now, it was time for me to take charge of this and do something about it.
I had a private hospital room. Lycra was downstairs getting something to eat. My mother Arianna McCarver was sitting in the lounge room after I had just told her that I needed to speak to Maverick alone for awhile.
Darren Maddox: Come over here Maverick and sit next to me. We need to have a talk....
TBCB: Maverick
